Bolton’s Bereavement Area Revamp – Creating a calming environment

After Find’s visit and plans put in place, work started with the revamp of the corridor leading to the viewing room. Taking inspiration from the hospital bereavement book a once plain wall now features a series of beautiful murals. Each mural features a tree worked into a series of archways representing the change of season and the cycle of life.

The waiting area and office walls feature a butterfly print theme. Inspiration for this has been taken from the hospital’s memory boxes to create a calming and inviting area to reflect.

“Both areas have been carefully designed taking into consideration the department in which they sit. By using existing ideas such as the tree and butterfly a familiarity has been established,” commented Karen Clayton at Find Memory Care.
